Biography:

Sally Elghamrawy is the Dean for MISR Higher Institute for Engineering & Technology. She is a professor in Computer Engineering – and she is recognized as a Senior IEEE Member. Former Head of the Communications & Computer Engineering Department and Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. She is a senior member of the Scientific Research School of Egypt (SRSEG) and the founder and Chair of the Scientific Research Group for Advanced Technologies (SRGAT), which funds several research projects as part of its initiatives.

Prof. Elghamrawy is an experienced Professor with a demonstrated history of working at the American University in Cairo (AUC), in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science. Additionally, she has worked at the Faculty of Engineering at British University in Egypt (BUE) and the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University,

Her contributions to the field have earned her numerous accolades, including the State Award for Women Encouragement in Energy, Water, Environmental, and Engineering Sciences in 2021, and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils Prize in Artificial Intelligence in 2019. She serves on the editorial review board of several prestigious international journals, including the International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence, published by IGI Global. She is also an editor for multiple international books, with recent publications by Springer International Publishing.

As a certified reviewer for the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, she has led several teams and was selected as an ABET observer for accreditation visits. Her expertise is also recognized in her role as a reviewer for highly ranked international journals such as IEEE Transactions, Information Fusion, Knowledge-Based Systems, and Expert Systems with Applications (Elsevier). Dr. Elghamrawy has authored numerous articles in prestigious peer-reviewed journals, including Future Generation Computer Systems (Elsevier), IEEE Access, and Grid Computing (Springer), and has received multiple best paper awards.

Beyond her academic roles, she is actively involved in the scientific community. She has been a judge for the NASA Space Apps Hackathon held at AUC and the Egyptian Engineering Day under the supervision of IEEE Egypt Young Professionals. Her participation extends to various international research projects funded by global universities in collaboration with SRSEG. Additionally, she is an alumna of the Nasser Military Academy for Postgraduate Studies – National Defense College and is frequently invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences and webinars.

Her research interests are diverse and cutting-edge, focusing on artificial intelligence techniques, the hybridization of machine learning techniques, big data analysis, No-SQL databases, artificial neural networks, optimization algorithms, wireless networks, network security, intelligent environment applications, biomedical engineering, and software engineering.
